Privacy Policy


The purpose of this privacy policy (the “Policy” or “Privacy Policy”) is to inform a current or prospective user how Ribitt Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our” as applicable) collects, uses and discloses personal information of the user in relation to a user’s use of our website and any applicable subdomains or our application (our “App”) which a user can download for purposes set out in our Terms of Use and further explained in our FAQ.

Please note that “personal information” is information about an identifiable individual, and is not (i) information that is anonymous or aggregated, or (ii) incapable of being combined with other bits of information to identify a specific person. The words “user” and “you” are used interchangeably and any variation of such words have the meaning as applicable in the context.

The Privacy Policy applies to any user accessing or using our App by any electronic computing device and mobile computing device, including smart phones and tablet, laptop and desktop computers.  By using our App or providing us personal information, a user has agreed to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.  If you or anyone you represent intend to be a user of our App but do not agree with any term in this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use, please do not provide us your personal information or use our App.

We may modify this Policy at any time and if there are changes in how a user’s personal information is impacted, we will update the user. Regardless, we request users to check to see whether this Policy has been modified. Users are deemed to have accepted any modifications of this Policy if they continue to provide personal information to the Company after publication of such modifications.

 

What We Collect and Why?

We collect specific personal information for certain purposes as set out below. This collection may occur when a user intentionally provide us the information or when we receive the information through electronic collection mechanisms.

As noted above in “What We Collect and Why?”, we may share your personal information with third parties where we have received your consent to do so or under limited circumstances specifically described at such time as personal information is collected from you.

We may also use aggregate non-identifiable information it collects to inform its current and prospective merchants and offers about the number of users of the Site, the demographic characteristics of these users and the number of times users have viewed and "clicked" on their profile(s). Ribitt may also disclose to merchants the overall demographics available regarding users who "clicked" on their profiles. Aggregate non-identifiable information may be used to describe Ribitt services and products to third parties such as prospective business partners and financial institutions. In any of these circumstances, only non-identifiable information in an aggregate form and not personal information is disclosed.

Although Ribitt endeavours to keep your information as private as possible, there are certain situations in which we may disclose your personal information to the extent required and no further: (a) to comply with the law or a legal process; (b) to fix a breach in the App’s security; (c) if it is necessary in order to protect your or others’ safety; or (d) if you grant us permission to disclose such information. 

Presence of Cookies to Collect Website Usage

A cookie is a small file stored on your computer by your web browser. Sessional cookies only work for the duration of your visit, and do not store personal information. Sessional cookies are used to help us understand how you move around our website. Persistent cookies are stored on your electronic device until they expire (persistent cookies have an expiration date), and can track information such as your IP address. Persistent cookies are used to help us identify if you are a returning visitor, or if you are a new visitor to our site. This will allow us to provide a better user service and experience.

We use cookies to collect meaningful data about the website interaction of all our visitors. We do not use cookies to collect individualized data about site visitors. If you choose to disable your cookies, you will still be able to view the content on the website, but your visit will not be included in our data of website usage.  

Web Sites Operated By Third Parties Have Their Own Privacy Policies

Our App may contain links to third party applications or web sites that may collect personal information. This Policy does not extend to the data collection, disclosure, use and retention practices of such third parties and Ribitt does not assume any responsibility for the privacy practices, policies or actions of such third parties, nor does Ribitt adjust its operations to accommodate such third parties’ practices.

User must read such third parties’ respective privacy policies and make an informed decision whether or not to use such third parties’ applications or visit such websites and/or provide personal information to such third parties based upon their privacy practices.

Retaining and Protecting Collected Information

As a general rule the personal information we collect from those who use our Site is held in strict confidence and, except in limited circumstances as permitted or required by law, and as disclosed in this Policy, is not disclosed to third parties without your consent, express or implied.

Any personal information collected and held by Ribitt is safeguarded through the using of physical and electronic means and the implementation of policies applicable to Ribitt staff. We will retain users’ information for as long as needed for the user to utilize the App, and for us to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our Terms.

Ribitt does not sell any Personal Information provided by you to a third party nor do we share such information with anyone except for the sake of providing you the functionality we have committed to provide in the App.

If we do share with a third party any information that we have collected from your interaction with the App for reasons that are unrelated to providing you services with the App, we will make sure that we remove any personal identifiers so that the information is anonymized.

Verifying and correcting personal information

Individuals have the right to access, verify and correct or amend all of their personal information collected by Ribitt.

We believe that it is imperative that a user’s personal information be as accurate, complete and up to date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is collected. Accordingly, to help us keep personal information as current as possible, users are encouraged to amend inaccuracies and make corrections to their personal information in our records. To access, verify and correct or amend personal information you can edit it under ‘Profile’ found under the ‘More’ section or send an e-mail to Ribitt at info@ribitt.io.

How to File a Complaint

To file a complaint with Ribitt concerning the collection, use and/or disclosure of personal information, please send an e-mail to Ribitt at info@ribitt.io. All complaints will be investigated by Ribitt. You will be notified of the outcome of the investigation of your complaint and you may be notified of any relevant steps taken or to be taken as a result of your complaint.

Opting Out, Limiting Use and Impact on App Use

You always have the choice about whether or not you wish to supply Ribitt with personal information. If you wish to "opt-out" of receiving certain informational and promotional materials from Ribitt or otherwise object to the collection, use and disclosure policies as provided under this Privacy Policy, please contact Ribitt by e-mail at info@ribitt.io or utilize the options in the App to set you permissions as applicable. You can always contact us and we can help you set the permissions as needed.

Opt-out opportunities may be provided in other circumstances such as in certain promotional communications. Individuals are reminded that a user’s decision to withhold personal information or to object to the use and/or disclosure of personal information as provided in this Privacy Policy or in any agreement between a user and Ribitt, may in certain instances limit a user’s ability to complete purchases of goods and services offered in the App and may limit user’s ability to access or take advantage of certain promotions and features.
